Here's a strange kind of horror story — one where the monster is a planet, the planet keeps failing to show up, and people keep believing in it anyway. This is the story of Nibiru. And the strangest part isn't the doom. It's how many times the world was supposed to end, and how quietly everyone moved the date whenever it didn't. SPECULATION / LEGEND. Nibiru begins with Zecharia Sitchin, the same writer behind the alien-ANUNNAKI theory. In his telling, Nibiru is a giant undiscovered planet on a wildly elongated 3,600-year orbit, home to the ANUNNAKI, sweeping close to Earth to cause catastrophe and, occasionally, to drop off gods. Sitchin claimed CUNEIFORM tablets described it. Assyriologists say they do not — the word he leaned on refers, in the astronomical texts, most often to a marker point in the sky, and in some contexts to the planet Jupiter. No rogue world. No 3,600-year clock. Then the story mutated. In 1995, a woman named Nancy Lieder said she was receiving telepathic warnings through an implant in her brain from aliens near the star Zeta Reticuli. Her message: a 'Planet X' would swing past Earth and flip the poles (see your neighbor POLE-SHIFT), wiping out most of humanity. Her first predicted date was May 2003. DOCUMENTED FACT: nothing happened. The catastrophe was then folded into the 2012 Maya-calendar panic — December 21, 2012 came and went, and you're still reading this. The date drifted again to 2015, then to 2017, when a preacher named David Meade insisted the numbers pointed to September 23. Again: nothing. Each failure was simply recalculated into a new near-future. And NASA — this is DOCUMENTED — repeatedly and publicly said the same thing every time: there is no such planet. As astronomer David Morrison put it for NASA, a body big enough and close enough to threaten Earth soon would by now be one of the brightest objects in the night sky; amateur astronomers worldwide would see it; you wouldn't need a telepathic implant. It isn't there. Now, one honest fork, so nobody's misled. In 2016, real astronomers Konstantin Batygin and Michael Brown proposed 'Planet Nine' — a genuine, sober hypothesis that a distant, unseen planet might explain the clustered orbits of some far Kuiper Belt objects. It is DOCUMENTED science, still unconfirmed, and it has absolutely nothing to do with Nibiru. It doesn't approach Earth, it doesn't end the world, and it isn't piloted by anyone. Conflating the two is exactly the kind of slippage this map exists to catch. So when you pin Nibiru to the map, pin it as a warning label as much as a place. One thread runs back to the ANUNNAKI who supposedly ride it; another runs forward to POLE-SHIFT, the mechanism of its promised doom.
