G.H. Estabrooks — Harvard-trained, Colgate psychology chair, WWII War Department consultant — wrote repeatedly and openly (including a 1971 Science Digest piece, 'Hypnosis Comes of Age') that he had created dissociated courier identities for the military: 'the key to creating an effective spy or assassin rests in splitting a man's personality.' His claims are first-person and unverified by released files, but they are the on-record statements of a credentialed insider, which is why every programmed-assassin thread cites him.
