Wardenclyffe Tower
SUMMARY
The transmitter that would power the world for free. Morgan asked where the meter went.
FULL DOSSIER
Tesla's Long Island tower (1901-06) was built for transatlantic wireless and, per Tesla, wireless power transmission. J.P. Morgan's funding stopped — the documented reason is Marconi's cheaper success and cost overruns; the quoted 'where do we put the meter' line is attributed but captures the economics. The tower was demolished for salvage in 1917. It anchors the free-energy suppression narrative: a real project, killed by financing, remembered as murder.
