Vimanas

Flying palaces of the Vedas, described with the precision of an engineer's manual.

The Vedas and epics describe flying palaces and chariots (vimanas) in poetic detail; the 'Vaimanika Shastra,' often cited as an engineering manual, was produced by channeling in the 1920s and found aeronautically unsound by a 1974 IISc study. The genuine textual descriptions of aerial combat in the Mahabharata link the node to ancient-astronaut readings and to Mohenjo-daro's 'vitrification' lore.
