Plum Island

FILE DATE 1954

STATUS NEVER CLOSED
SUMMARY
An animal disease lab off Long Island, upwind of the first Lyme cluster. Coincidence, say the maps.
FULL DOSSIER
The USDA/DHS animal disease center off Long Island's tip — real, high-containment, and staffed at its founding by Erich Traub, a Paperclip scientist who ran Nazi biowarfare work on ticks and livestock. The Lyme hypothesis (outbreak epicenter at Old Lyme, 1975, ten miles across the water) was examined in Michael Carroll's 'Lab 257' and taken seriously enough that in 2019 the House passed an amendment directing the Pentagon's IG to review tick-weaponization experiments — the review happened; results were not made public. Mainstream vector biology dates Lyme's spread to reforestation and deer. The file connects Paperclip, MKNAOMI, and the pattern of questions Congress asks once and drops.
