The DIA Capstone

A Masonic dedication stone naming a "New World Airport Commission" that doesn't exist.

The Defense Intelligence Analysis Center at Bolling AFB held a 1994 cornerstone ceremony conducted with Masonic rites — as did the U.S. Capitol (Washington himself, 1793, in apron), the White House, and the Washington Monument. Documented in Grand Lodge records and period newspapers. The lore reads ritual jurisdiction over federal architecture; the historical reading is that Freemasonry was the civic religion of the founding generation and cornerstone rites were its public liturgy. The stones and the aprons are real either way.
