The Magic Bullet
SUMMARY
CE-399: pristine, on a stretcher, after breaking bones. Physics, critics say, disagrees.
FULL DOSSIER
CE-399: one bullet traversing Kennedy's neck and Connally's chest, wrist, and thigh, recovered nearly intact on a Parkland stretcher. The single-bullet theory is required arithmetic for a lone gunman (three shots, one miss documented by the Tague wounding). Defenses: the seating geometry works when modeled correctly (Connally's jump seat inboard and lower), and Failure Analysis Associates' 1992 reconstruction supported the trajectory. Critiques: the bullet's condition versus wrist damage, chain-of-custody gaps (stretcher identification), and Connally's own testimony that he was hit separately. Both literatures are extensive; the node holds the fight.
