The Sumerian King List: cuneiform document (best copy: Weld-Blundell prism, c. 1800 BC) recording kings 'after kingship descended from heaven' — with antediluvian reigns of tens of thousands of years, then a flood, then plausible spans. Documented: the artifact, in the Ashmolean. Ancient-astronaut lore (Sitchin) reads the long reigns literally as Anunnaki administration; Assyriologists read political propaganda in mythic numbers, noting Sitchin's translations don't survive scrutiny. One clay prism, two irreconcilable operating systems.
