No mummy was ever found in the Great Pyramid — no soot on the ceilings either, in shafts where lamps should have burned. Its base is level to within centimeters over thirteen acres; its faces are subtly concave in a way visible only from the air. Engineers still argue about the granite. The power-plant theory, the tomb theory, the water-pump theory — each explains half the evidence, and each is missing the same thing: the tools.
