Element 115
SUMMARY
Lazar's impossible fuel. Science synthesized it in 2003. Stable isotopes pending.
FULL DOSSIER
Lazar's 1989 claim: the craft ran on element 115, stable, generating a gravity wave under proton bombardment. In 2003, Dubna synthesized element 115 (moscovite); all known isotopes decay in under a second — cited as debunking. The believers' answer: island-of-stability physics predicts stable superheavy isotopes with the right neutron count, which no accelerator has reached. The claim is thus unfalsified rather than confirmed — precisely calibrated, skeptics note, to stay that way. It connects S-4, the antigravity file, and the question of whether Lazar guessed a periodic-table address fourteen years early.
