Black Knight Satellite
SUMMARY
An object in polar orbit, blamed for echoes Tesla heard in 1899. NASA says: blanket.
FULL DOSSIER
The composite legend: Tesla's 1899 repeating signal, the 1954 satellite reports (pre-Sputnik), the 1960 dark object in polar orbit, Gordon Cooper's sighting, and the 1998 STS-88 photograph of something black and articulated. NASA's answer for the photo — a lost thermal blanket — is documented and probably true. The legend simply routes around it, as legends do, and the polar-orbit reports from 1960 remain, in the literature, unexplained.
