FULL DOSSIER
The Archivio Apostolico (renamed from 'Secretum' in 2019, a translation problem the Vatican tired of): 53 miles of shelving, 12 centuries of documents, access by credentialed scholars to cataloged, pre-1958 materials only. The confirmed reveals set the tone — the Chinon parchment (found misfiled in 2001) showed a pope absolving the Templars of heresy in 1308, rewriting that story seven centuries late. The Pius XII wartime files opened in 2020, decades behind schedule. The lore's uncataloged basement is unverifiable by construction; the institution's own pace supplies the plausibility.
