The 23 Enigma: the belief that the number 23 recurs meaningfully — Burroughs collected instances, Robert Anton Wilson and Shea seeded them through 'Illuminatus!' (1975), Discordians canonized it. Documented: the literary chain of custody is fully traceable, and psychologists file the effect under confirmation bias and apophenia (you find what you count). Included on this map as its own control experiment: a pattern-detection engine pointed at noise, and knowingly so — the joke that teaches how the serious nodes work.
