Thule Society
SUMMARY
Occultists of the polar homeland whose Munich backroom incubated something terrible.
FULL DOSSIER
Munich occult-nationalist lodge founded 1918, named for the Atlantis of the north. Documented: it sponsored the German Workers' Party, which Hitler joined and turned into the NSDAP; members included Rudolf Hess and publisher Dietrich Eckart. Hitler himself never belonged and banned esoteric orders once in power. Postwar lore ('The Morning of the Magicians,' 1960) inflated Thule into the occult engine of the Reich, complete with Vril energy and secret Antarctic bases. The real record — a lodge midwifing a catastrophe then being discarded — is stranger than the inflation.
