Comte de Saint-Germain

FILE DATE 1745
CROSS-REFS 04
STATUS NEVER CLOSED
SUMMARY
The courtier who never aged, never ate, and appears in memoirs across three centuries.
FULL DOSSIER
The Comte de Saint-Germain: documented at the French court in the 1740s-50s as diplomat, chemist, and virtuoso who claimed (or allowed others to claim) he was centuries old; Voltaire called him 'a man who never dies and who knows everything.' Church registers record a death at Eckernförde, 1784. Sightings continued anyway, and Theosophy promoted him to Ascended Master; the 'I AM' movement built a religion on him in the 1930s. The best-documented case of a living person becoming an immortal in real time.
