The Ra Material

Let's say you keep pulling the thread. You've got the book, The Law of One, and you want to know: what does the voice on those tapes actually claim to be, and what does it actually teach? That's this file. This is Ra itself, and the machinery of the universe it lays out. So here's the setup, as the transcripts present it. Ra introduces itself as a 'social memory complex,' which is its term for an entire population of beings whose minds have merged into a single shared consciousness. It says it reached that state long ago, that it once tried to help humanity in ancient Egypt, and that some of that help went wrong, misunderstood, turned into pyramid-worship and pharaoh cults, which is why, it says, it now speaks only in careful words through a protected trance channel. Remember, this is documented as channeled belief, not as established fact. What follows is the cosmology the material teaches, reported as the material's own claims. At the center is one idea: the Law of One. Everything is one infinite Creator. But that oneness, Ra says, expresses itself through a great climb, and here is where the famous vocabulary comes in. Consciousness evolves through a ladder of 'densities,' seven or eight rungs of increasing awareness, from raw mineral being all the way up to reunion with the source. You, right now, Ra tells the questioner, are a third-density being: self-aware, capable of love, and standing at a crossroads. And that crossroads is the heart of the whole system. Ra frames spiritual growth as a single fundamental choice between two paths. The first is 'service to others,' the path of radical love, compassion, giving. The second is 'service to self,' the path of control, separation, power over others. Both, unsettlingly, are said to be valid roads that can carry a soul upward, at least for a while, though Ra teaches that the service-to-others path leads much further in the end. There is no simple good-versus-evil here. There is polarity, and there is choice. Then comes the part that gives the material its urgency: the 'harvest.' Ra describes a great cyclical turning, roughly every 75,000 years, when souls who have grown enough graduate, are 'harvested,' into the next density. Earth, in the material's telling, is right now at the edge of such a harvest, shifting from third density into fourth, the 'density of love.' The people who feel drawn to this teaching are, it suggests, often 'wanderers,' higher-density souls who volunteered to be born here to help during the shift. So here's where it gets strange. Whatever you make of the source, this framework, densities, the harvest, the two services, wanderers, became a load-bearing structure for a huge slice of modern spiritual culture.
