What the additives are really for, says the theory: fogging the antenna.

Here's a fact that sounds like a conspiracy theory but isn't. If a doctor took an X-ray of your head right now, and you're an adult, there's a very good chance they'd see a small bright spot near the center of your brain. A little fleck of calcium. And that fleck is your pineal gland, slowly turning to stone. That part is real. Let me say it plainly, because this is where the documented science and the mystical claim get tangled, and you deserve to know exactly where the line is. So here's what's actually true. Pineal calcification is real, it's common, and it increases with age. The gland accumulates deposits of calcium and other minerals, forming tiny structures sometimes called "brain sand" or corpora arenacea. Radiologists have used the calcified pineal for decades as a landmark, a fixed point on a skull X-ray, precisely because it's so reliably visible in adults. Studies have found calcification in a large share of people, and the rate climbs as you get older. It's so ordinary that on a scan it's usually just noted and ignored. What that calcification means for your health is honestly not fully settled. Some research has explored links between heavy pineal calcification and reduced melatonin output, or poorer sleep, but that science is limited and far from conclusion. That's the honest state of it. Now, so here's where it gets strange. In the esoteric world, this ordinary aging process gets reframed as something sinister. The claim goes like this: your third eye, the pineal, is your organ of spiritual perception, and calcification is what "seals it shut." And then the theory names a villain. Fluoride. The idea is that fluoride in your water supply is deliberately, or at least conveniently, calcifying your pineal gland to shut down your spiritual sight and keep you docile. We have to separate two things here very carefully, because they are not the same. Is there any real science connecting fluoride to the pineal? A little, and it's thin. The most cited piece is work from the late 1990s by a researcher named Jennifer Luke, who reported that fluoride can accumulate in pineal tissue and, in animal studies, was associated with changes in melatonin. That's a genuine, published finding, and it's worth knowing. But it is a narrow, preliminary result. It does not show that ordinary drinking water calcifies your gland, and it says absolutely nothing, nothing, about "blocking spiritual sight." That leap, from a modest animal study to mind control, is pure belief. It is not in the data. So hold both truths at once. Your pineal really does calcify. Fluoride really does have some documented affinity for the gland in limited studies. And the mystical story built on top of that, the sealed third eye, the deliberate spiritual lobotomy, is not supported by evidence. We're not sneering at anyone who wondered about it. We're just telling you where the pavement ends. Which brings us to our neighbor, the fluoride question itself, because that node has its own real science and its own Cold War ghosts.
