Robert Bauval's 1994 thesis: the three Giza pyramids mirror Orion's Belt, with the correlation tightest around 10,500 BCE due to precession. Astronomers dispute the fit's precision and the date's selection. It connects Giza to the precession thread (the ancients demonstrably tracked the 26,000-year wobble) and to the Sirius mystery, since Orion/Sirius alignments anchor Egyptian temple orientation and the Dogon question.
