New World Order

The phrase presidents keep using in speeches, as if rehearsing an announcement.

Bush said it at the podium in 1990 — 'a new world order' — and a thousand basement archives lit up at once. The phrase has an older pedigree: Wells wrote the book, the dollar bill wears the Latin, every peace conference since Vienna has promised the same managed world. The theory's core is not secret meetings; it's that the meetings aren't secret at all, and no one is allowed to mind.
