In 2015 a team from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, respected scientists, brought in magnetic and gravitational surveys along the railway embankment. Their conclusion, announced clearly: there was no train. The geophysics showed no metal mass, no tunnel cavity consistent with a buried locomotive. As one professor put it, there may be a tunnel, but there is no train. Still, the excitement wouldn't quite die, so in 2016 the two claimants funded their own physical dig at the site. Crews brought in excavators. And after all the drilling and digging along that embankment near the tracks? Nothing. No train, no gold, no treasure.
