Marfa, Hessdalen, Brown Mountain: lights that dance where faults grind. Watched, never caught.

The Marfa lights are documented since 1883 (ranch-hand accounts) with a permanent viewing platform today; the 2004 UT-Dallas physics society study found observed lights on Highway 67 corresponded to car headlights under temperature-inversion optics, while conceding historical pre-automobile reports. Hessdalen (Norway) is the scientific counterpart: instrumented since 1983 (Project Hessdalen), with published spectra of unexplained luminous phenomena and piezoelectric/ionization hypotheses in the peer-reviewed literature.
