The claim: NASA hired the director of 2001 to film the landings, and he confessed through The Shining — room 237 (the Moon's alleged distance in miles, wrong), the Apollo 11 sweater, 'All work and no play' as A11. The forensic reality: front-screen projection (Kubrick's 2001 technique) leaves artifacts absent from Apollo footage, and the landings' physics (dust ballistics, 1/6-g gait) defeated 1969 effects capabilities — the footage is harder to fake than to shoot. The 2015 'confession' video was demonstrated fake. The file persists as the myth's most elegant chapter: a perfectionist so good he becomes the explanation for reality.
