Eye on the Dollar

The reverse of the Great Seal — unfinished pyramid, Eye of Providence, ANNUIT COEPTIS / NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM — was designed in 1782 (Thomson/Barton, drawing on Du Simitière's eye motif, a common Enlightenment emblem predating Masonic adoption). It reached the dollar bill in 1935 at Henry Wallace's suggestion to FDR — both men, notably, interested in esoterica (Wallace's Roerich correspondence is documented). The factual chain (Enlightenment emblem → New Deal currency) is stranger than the myth requires and is why the node links the Illuminati file to the dollar.
