The Grassy Knoll
SUMMARY
Witnesses ran toward the fence, not the depository. The acoustics said four shots.
FULL DOSSIER
The acoustic evidence (a police dictabelt) drove the HSCA's 1979 'probable conspiracy' finding of a fourth shot from the knoll; the National Academy of Sciences' 1982 review (Ramsey panel) found the analysis flawed — crosstalk dating the relevant sounds after the shooting. Fifty-plus witnesses reported shots or smoke from the knoll area (documented in Warren volumes); photographic analysis (Moorman, Zapruder) remains contested. The node holds the specific evidentiary fight, distinct from the general JFK file: one hillside, two federal conclusions.
