In its modern form, Ascension usually means a collective shift — the belief that humanity as a whole is raising its "vibration" and awakening to a more loving, unified, higher-dimensional way of being. For many, the 2012 date was supposed to be the trigger or the doorway. It connects directly to the belief in 5d-earth, the idea of moving from a third-dimensional reality into a fifth, and to claimed physical signs like the schumann resonance, Earth's real electromagnetic heartbeat, reinterpreted as a cosmic awakening meter.
